Education for a Creative Career

GCSE

If you think you might want a career in the creative arts, GCSE choices such as Art and Design, Design and Technology, Music, Drama, ICT, Media Studies, Journalism, languages are all going to be useful. Anything with a creative element is going to give you a good grounding.

Maths and English are crucial! You’re always going to have to cost up a project, understand your salary.

Being able to communicate within the creative arts is paramount. You may be writing lyrics, or a screenplay, or maintaining a social media feed so good written English is incredibly important.

A Levels

So you’re beginning to specialise. Make sure you choose what you’re passionate about – it might be music, or drama, media, art, film and TV, design and technology.

The ‘A’ in A Levels stands for academic so be prepared to write essays and sit exams. You’ll learn both theory and practice. It’s wise to choose complimentary courses such as English or Maths, and you’ll set yourself for great choices when you complete them.

T Levels

T Levels are quite new, and are technical courses equivalent to three A Levels. Those suited to T Levels will be those who have a specific career in mind, and lots of the course are design based. This is the current list of courses available and more will be added over the next few years.

  • T Level technical qualification in Education and Childcare
  • T Level technical qualification in Health
  • T Level technical qualification in Healthcare Science
